Matthew 25: Ministries PR & Corporate Campaign

The Situation

For nearly a decade, non-profit Matthew 25: Ministries has provided humanitarian supplies of food, clothing, school and medical supplies to the poorest of the poor in 25 countries and in the USA. It has shipped over 13,000,000 tons of donated goods while striving to help developing countries become self-sufficient. As it grew, the need for Strategic Planning and Public Relations became apparent.

The Proposal

Founder and president, Rev. Wendell Mettey, asked Justice & Young for assistance in helping M25:M to grow and develop new resources to expand the humanitarian programs. The organization needed better communications to its 1600 individual contributors and needed to reach a more diverse group of corporate sponsors on a very limited budget.

Strategy & Tactics

Working on a pro-bono consulting basis, J&Y organized and conducted off-site "brainstorming" executive staff meetings to distill the non-profits’ vision into prioritized, actionable strategies. J&Y then designed new image and graphic standards, created new multiple use literature for specific audiences – corporate and individual donors, volunteers and commercial partners. New PR and corporate campaigns have been initiated with a focus on "reverse logistics" as cost reduction programs for donor corporations.

The Outcome

Matthew 25: Ministries has now outgrown its 100,000 square feet of warehouse space. It is gaining new support and contributions of products and supplies from new and larger corporate sponsors. New literature, designed by J&Y, helped present the Matthew 25: Ministries mission to the White House at a symposium on faith-based ministries in Washington, D.C.
J&Y is now assisting with new marketing programs to help assure a reliable revenue stream and flow of donated products for expanding humanitarian relief worldwide.
